Announcing Cernunnos
Software is a game of effort.
You're an experienced programmer; we already know you can do anything in code. The real question is what can you do at a price someone is willing to pay?
Consider this example: The developer who knows how to deliver $20,000 of business value at a cost of $5,000 is three times more effective than one who can deliver $40,000 of business value for $35,000. Time is money.
The Cernunnos Project encapsulates programming practices that reduce effort and maximize the ratio of business value to cost in software. It includes an API, a runtime environment, and tons of useful features out-of-the-box!

Documentation
Cernunnos is new and documentation is somewhat sparse. Some information is available online from the Cernunnos Wiki and at the Cernunnos Google Group.
If you need information on a specific topic, post a question and you will likely get a response in short order.
Cernunnos Manual
The best source of information is the Cernunnos Manual. It includes a comprehensive reference, as well as a detailed overview of core concepts. The Cernunnos Project builds its manual using its own technology from information contained in the project source files.
You can view the Cernunnos Manual here.
Releases
Cernunnos is in pre-release. In other words, there are no General Audience builds. There are, however, several Milestone builds on our Downloads Page.
You can also obtain Cernunnos from the Subversion Repository. Just checkout the Cernunnos source code and follow these instructions to build it.
Is Anyone Using It?
- The uPortal Project implements some administrative functions using Cernunnos
- The University of Illinois uses Cernunnos to manage multi-environment, multi-server portal deployment (see this detailed case study)
